Josh Woolheater
from Lanesville, New York has been pulling
horses for four years. He can generally be found driving for some of his
neighbors and friends. In 2007 he has been helping work and has been
driving Craig Benjamin's heavyweight horses Don & Jack. He competes in his
home state of New York as well as in Connecticut, Massachusetts and
Pennsylvania. Josh who makes his living as a meat cutter claims his
favorite pull is the one in August at the Rhinebeck Fair. He considers his
most important accomplishment to date to be finishing runner up at the pull in
Pine Plains, New York three years ago. Josh has no family members involved
with horsepulling but would like to thank Mike Rothe and Robert Simpson for
helping him get started in the sport as well as Craig Benjamin for the
opportunity to work and pull his horses. Josh feels there is an urgent
need for more young people to take an interest in horsepulling so that the sport
will continue to thrive in the future.
