Randy McGirr
from Waynesburg, Kentucky has been pulling competitively for 15 years.
First with ponies and now with horses. He presently owns 2 horses and
competes with them in lightweight classes as well as split overweight classes in
KY., OH., NY., PA., NC., and Michigan. Randy makes his living as a metal
roll former. His favorite pull to compete in each year is at the Spencer
County Fair in Taylorsville, Kentucky. Randy's father Johnny McGirr and
father-in-law Buck Dodge also pull horses. Winning the lightweight class
at the 2006 NY State Fair with Buck and getting a second place finish in
Taylorsville in 1997 are Randy's most important accomplishments of his pulling
career. When Randy and his wife Stacey are not judging and taking the sled
and blocks to pulls in their home state of Kentucky Randy can often be found off
pulling horses with his father-in-law Buck. Randy has learned a lot from
Buck and considers him a great horsemen. Randy has 3 daughters...Kyla,
Kelsey and Kasey.
