Wayne
Dodge of Owego, New York is part of the
sizeable Dodge family that loves to pull horses. For the past 15 years
Wayne has been competing along with his dad Buck and uncles Kevin, Larry and
Randy. He told us that he really appreciates the support from friends and
family especially his dad because without their help it would be very difficult
to stay competitive. He competes with his pair of lightweight horses in
the 3300 classes in NY., PA., NJ. and Michigan. Wayne makes his living by
hauling timber products to various mills in New York and Pennsylvania. He
lists the Erie County Fair in Hamburg, New York as his favorite pull to
compete at during the season. Wayne's proudest accomplishment in pulling
was placing first in the lightweight class at the 2002 NY. State Fair.
His wish for the future of horsepulling is to see more young people take an
interest so that it will continue to grow.
