I would like to thank all the sponsors, workers, supporters and participants of the Bluegrass Draft Horse and Mule Championship. Our theme each year is "Pulling for a Cure" and this year that was especially meaningful as Stacey and Randy McGirr were able to attend. We have a Silent Auction booth dedicated to Cancer Awareness each year and the proceeds go to individuals that have expenses related to their cancer treatment. Fifty percent of the proceeds this year will go to Randy McGirr. The other fifty percent is held in a fund for future requests. We also appreciate the donations for the booth that were brought in the day of the pull.

Back to the pull and congratulations to Larry Burton and Cletus Greer the winners of the Overweight Mule Class, Carpenter, Floyd and Jones, driven by Will Jones winner of the Light Overweight Horse Class and to David Cox the winner of the Heavy Overweight Horse Class.

Other Mule winners were Farthest Distance - Eric Law, Best Dressed - Coty Speck, Driver's Draw - Wallace Gassaway, Hooker Award - Anthony Grider, Sportsmanship - Hollis Thrasher and the portable driving sled went to Jessica Mangrum.

Other Light Overweight Horse Class winners were Farthest Distance - Roger Beeman, Best Dressed - Allen Hager & Sons, Driver's Draw - David Squires, Better Half Draw - Jessica Jones, Hooker Award - Tristan Van Dyke, Sportsmanship - Sam & Judy Estep, Portable Driving Sled - Dave Cox.
