Spot Tractor
If a pull only has ten teams or less. Does most horsepulls provide a spot tractor after half the teams have gone out? Then the top half passes first second all or nothing on third. Just seems fair for everyone on the last load. Makes a GREAT PULL for fans of the sport!!

My opinion only, the only thing a tractor should be used for at a horse pull is to carry the weights to the sled.

if you have ever gotten a bad spot in the track,or had to try and pull the boat out of a hole you might have a different opinion on having a tractor at a horsepull. here in ny on your 3rd hook, you have the choice of where the boat sits,or back at the head of the track.

i think all pullers know they are sometimes just going to have to pull the boat out of a bad ground or a hole.
a spot tractor slows things down and in my opinion loses the crowds attention. i dont pull horses, just an opinion.

I believe anyone that has actually spent countless hours( years) getting horses ready to compete would agree that they want their horses to be able to compete on an "even" playing field. If a team gets beat or wins in that situation, it is the team that was able to pull the most weight that day that should win. No team should be beaten because they are in a spot on the track that may well pull a load or even two loads heavier than the the spot that a weaker team pulled a load from. Hence the spot tractor levels the playing field for all teams.

I have lost contests because of a bad spot in the track and have won also due to good boat placement. It is all part of horsepulling. Being able to read the track is part of the fun. The people in the stands don't come to watch a tractor pull. The majority that have talked about the spotting tractor do not like it.
