Pull of Champions
I am wondering if anybody knows what teamsters will be attending the spring pull? Must people that I spoken are somewhat reluctant to travel the distance, if there are not enough teams there. Please let us know if you will be attending, or know of others who will be bringing horses. Hopefully lots of horses = lots of fans. Larger crowds should ensure the spring pull will continue for years to come. Doug and others from The New York Assn. try their best to make it work for everybody. Thanks Rick

Last year had about ten pair in each class. Don't know exactly who's coming this year but heard of lots of teamsters coming

I would like to encourage people to get out and support the Pull of Champions which is being held at the Orleans County Fairgrounds in Albion, New York on Saturday April 25. The Pull of Champions has long been considered one of the top pulls in the country. For those of you from the Northeast like I am you more then likely spent each winter looking forward to spring and the big pull in Syracuse each April. As many of you know the event suffered through a couple poor turnouts due to being forced to be held on Easter weekend. Last year the NY club decided to move the event to Albion and I along with others who attended felt that the pull was an improvement over the preceding two years. We have heard some positive things regarding turnout of horses this year and hope to build upon the pull we had last year. For those of you who made the decision to not attend last year I hope you’ll consider coming out this year. After a long hard winter don’t you deserve to get away and relax for a weekend? For those of you working horses by all means come to New York for the weekend and join us. The pull offers good prize money, is inside so weather isn’t an issue and there are stalls and hook-ups available. I hope to see you all in Albion.

I watched the pull and was amazed. I believe Dennis Wineberger, is the best driver that I have seen. Tom Brown did an awesome job getting the horses into Dennis. As long as those two men are together, they sure will be hard to beat!!!
