So sad to hear of the passing of the long-time member of the EDHA. He gave selflessly to the EDHA for many years. Anyone who subscribed to the double-tree or read the New England Blue Ribbon Books over the years owes him a debt of gratitude. The engineer cap and the old green pick-up were a staple at New England horsepulls for the better part of 60 years. I can't imagine there were too many places in the Northeast where Doug hadn't witnessed a Horsepull, kept a record, and published it for pulling enthusiasts. Hats off to the old man.

Amen, always amazed at he was such a stickler for detail(s). Back in the day you would pay Doug your dues and get your card. He scribbled your name on a piece of paper, a matchbook, old envelop, etc.. That he salted away. But amazingly the double tree was always there in the spring. He once told me, I go to little pulls in the MTS in Vermont with only 4 teams in a class but as long as they all have a shot at winning its a great pull. There was no one who cared or did more for New England pulling than Doug. Rest in peace my friend.
