Retirement Announcement
After 18 years I’ve decided this will be my last year providing I made the decision before the pandemic outbreak. This wasn’t quite the way I envisioned going out but no one could have seen the virus coming. I intend to work the site through the end of the season and most likely even the first couple months of 2021. For those of you who have had subscriptions expire or subscription renewal dates coming up you’ll have to make the decision on whether to renew taking into consideration the website termination date. Hopefully we’ll get some pulling in this year and I’ll do my best to provide you with the results.
I’d like to thank all those people who have helped me run down results, provide me with schedules and photos over the years. Without help a website like this is not possible. I’d also like to thank the clubs, the advertisers and the donors. And of course, thanks to all of the subscribers, for 18 years of support.
Thank You

I am saddened to read this as you do an amazing job of providing a vast detailed and very accurate schedule of events throughout America for minimal cost as well as providing professional results that are accessible years after. I know I have gone back years to see what certain loads war as some of the venues that we run. All of the theaters that we are a part of you have always done a great job of posting information and updating changes for the Teamsters as well as members. It’s a lot of work and time and I for one (and my family) thank you for all of your efforts. If there is any way of changing your mind or if I can help any to lessen the burden and keep you here longer I will help all I can. Thank you Bill for the professionalism and hard work. Leaving New England twelve years ago and ending up in Arizona due to family issues I have grown to love this website and all the hard work put into it. No horsepulling here so being glued to the site during the season has brought much joy and interest. Thank you, thank you, thank you for sacrificing so much in order to keep us informed. I wish you the absolute best in whatever endeavor you go to next. Russ Ahlquist / Mesa, Arizona

one of the last joys left for this 92 year old to look forward to I could count on your site for truth and accurate reports in the schedule and in results. to say the job was a huge task very well done is too mild to be
accurate. i can say you had to live, eat and breath the
work to accomplish it all. I am nominating you for every association Hall Of Fame that has one. You were an answer to our prayers and to state our thanks does not cover your accomplishment. I feel it was a world record
and you have set the bar higher than many would be able to succeed. Bill Harter 92 years old and still love to see good horsemanship and great teams.

A reminder that the website will cease being active shortly after the Florida pulls in February. I'm not accepting payments for subscriptions at this late date. If your subscription expires between now and the end of February and you want to be able to access the Florida results please email me and I will update your subscription through the month of February. Thank You, Bill

Hey Bill

Anyway someone would be able to take over the site?

Wednesday, December 9, 2020 at 03:44 PM
To be completely honest it would take a large commitment on someone's part to take over. Not only the time commitment to run a site like this but an initial investment of finances to upgrade the site and purchase the site.

Who all wants to go in on it and keep it up?

Bill, I have thought a lot about your retirement since this post. I don't think the majority of the horsepulling community has a clue how much time and effort this site has entailed over the past years. I know from the Russelburg perspective, Glen would study the schedules you posted each year and plan his vacations or off days accordingly. So that may not seem like a big deal to some people, but there were many people that stopped doing mailings of pulling fliers because you provided that service. Yes, I know the flier can be posted on Facebook, but your site provided one location to access all that information. And yes, people posted the results in their various fashion on Facebook as they were more than entitled to do. But, some of these sheets were scribbled, barely legible and inaccurate. Your site on the other hand had detailed, clearly legible results that we were able to refer back to for many years. Everyone is free to do whatever they wish, but I have not posted results on Facebook out of respect for you and the hard work you put into your site. This was your income and for anyone that has owned a business, you appreciate the effort that another business owner puts in. It always infuriated me if someone posted my results from a screenshot on Facebook without my permission. And trust me, I never gave anyone permission. If I wanted someone to have the results I would private message them. For someone interested in a horse, they could go to your site and check the history out. Bill, you have provided information for the purchase of many needed pulling supplies and related goods. You have provided information on particular pullers that passed away and kept us all informed. I just am afraid that people are unaware of the breadth of information and service that you have provided. You have been a class act, a first rate pulling promoter and you will be greatly missed! Best wishes for a happy retirement. JoJo
