old time pullers and horses
Even though there are some folks that frequent this wonderful webpage, there are a few who have never had the pleasure of the big pullers from a decade or two ago. You know ... the ones that got all of us young folks "Hooked!" Anyone remember any favorites from days gone by? One of mine (even though he is young now is only because he started very young!)...My Hat is Off to J.M. Hall! That there is a good boy and a compliment to our sport! Wish we had more like him! Now, he and Too Tall or Terminator are not my only favorite but one that comes to the front every time memory calls. Let's hear yours!

I was too young to ever remember seeing them pull, but Harold Gilbert's pair Ted and Pat (I am having doubts about the names now and can't remember for sure if that is right) were what I grew up hearing about. I would also put Jess Smith's pair of blacks, Dan and Jerry, up against anything when they were at their best. He never left Missouri to compete, but the few that came here saw what we were up against.
