Francis J. Bonacassio

“Loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and brother”

Francis J. “Frank” Bonacassio, age 84, of Wolcott, entered into the gates of heaven on April 2, 2020 in his daughter’s home in Wolcott, with his loving family by his side. He was the beloved husband of Catherine Marie (Grillo) Bonacassio of sixty-one years.

Frank was born in Waterbury on January 24, 1936, son of the late Victor and Beatrice (Gnazzo) Bonacassio. Frank was a truck driver and member of the Teamsters Local 677 for over 35 years until his retirement in 1998.  Being an avid motorcycle enthusiast, Frank loved riding his Harley Davidson and was a proud member of the Fat Bastard's Motorcycle Club. His family will always remember Frank’s love for raising a wide variety of animals, his love for fishing with his grandchildren and taking long rides to the shore with his wife and how he loved traveling with his son Victor to various horse pulling shows.

Besides his wife Catherine of Wolcott, Frank leaves behind to cherish his memory two sons, Victor Bonacassio and his wife Jodi of Rochester Mills PA, Francis A. “Frank” Bonacassio Sr. and his wife Michele of Wolcott, his daughters, Joanne Bonacassio and her companion Dale Simard of Wolcott, Dawn Gaudiosi and her companion John Rumino of Wolcott.  He also leaves behind his brother, Anthony “Tony” Bonacassio and his wife Judy of Wolcott, his sister Victoria Lanouette and her husband Jay of Wolcott, his beloved grandchildren, Brandon Bonacassio, James D. Gaudiosi IV, Joseph Gaudiosi, Frank A. Bonacassio Jr., Jamie Gaudiosi and her fiance Brian DePinho, Jessica Bonacassio, Gianni Rumino and his great-grandchildren Jordyn Gaudiosi, James Gaudiosi V and Braydon Bonacassio. He was predeceased by his brother Ralph “Butch” Bonacassio.

Arrangements: Due to the pandemic of the COVID-19 Virus, all funeral services for Frank will be private and at the convenience of the family.  Frank will be buried at Edgewood Cemetery in Wolcott.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at a later date to be announced.  Chase Parkway Memorial, the Albini Family Funeral Home, 430 Chase Parkway, Waterbury, CT has been entrusted with handling Frank’s funeral arrangements.
