Obituary of Joyce A. Clark
ANGELICA-Joyce Middaugh Clark “Loving Mother, Grandmother & Sister” Joyce A. Clark, of 6773 County Route 20, formerly of Belfast, passed away Monday February 27, 2023, at the Cleveland Clinic surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Amity on June 5, 1943, the daughter of William Vincent “Toby” and Ruby (Sortore) Middaugh. On Feb. 20, 1965, in Scio, she married the love of her life, Charlie G. Clark, who pre-deceased her on Sept. 27, 2012. Joyce was a graduate of Belmont Central School. She and her husband owned a dairy farm in Belfast, which they operated until 1986. Joyce worked as a telephone operator in Belfast, a teacher’s aide at Belfast Central School and for Southern Tier Home Health Care and Southern Tier Environments for Living, until her retirement. Joyce enjoyed spending time with her family and attending horse pulls. In her later years she enjoyed playing cards, board games and watching her soap operas. Her home was always open to anyone. She was a gracious hostess to extra kids, hunters, horse pullers and even those who needed a home to live in. She and her husband were foster parents for many years to ten children. Joyce will be sadly missed by her family and friends. Surviving are a daughter Rhonda L. (Terry Smith) Clark of West Farmington, Ohio and a son, Charles R. “Boomer” (Wendy) Clark of Fillmore; two grandchildren, Aubrey (Adam) Starks of Webster and Alex Clark of Encino, CA; two brothers, Douglas (Carol) Middaugh of Scio and Donald (Norma) Middaugh of Friendship, many nieces & nephews including James Middaugh of Friendship and aunt, Jesse Cassady of Rushford and as well as extended family. She was predeceased by her parents; her husband; six brothers, Vincent, Richard, Ralph, Maurice, Roger, and Fred Middaugh; and her sisters, Marjorie Elliott, Marilyn Miller, and Onalee Scharf. Friends will be recieved at the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home Inc., 24 Genesee Pkwy., Cuba on Saturday, March 11, 2023, from 12:00 noon to 2:00 pm, at which time a memorial service will be held. The Rev. Jerry Clark will officiate. Her burial will be at White Cemetery in Rushford at a later date.
