Myron R. Dickey

NORTH ANSON – Our beloved husband, father, and grandfather, Myron Dickey, 86, passed peacefully on Dec. 19, 2023. Myron was born on Aug. 19, 1937 in Oakland. He was the oldest son of Robert and Estermaude (Salley) Dickey.

Myron was a hard working man and a legend in the draft horse pulling community. Family was very important to him and he was the life of every get together and every holiday.

He was a self employed lumberman which included employment with Plum Creek Timberland Company for many years. He retired his business, Dickey Logging, in 2004 at the age of 67.

In Myron’s younger years he was part of several musical bands that performed locally.

He began his pulling years with pony pulling 1958, when he was 21 years old. He then began pulling large draft horses. He continued pulling horses until his last pull at Fryeburg Fair in 2017.

Myron was predeceased by his mother, his father; and brother, Keith Dickey.

He is survived by his loving, devoted wife of 66 years, Sandra (Michaud) Dickey; children Doreen Dickey of Wilton, Ronald Dickey of Perry, Fla., Diane Pinkham and husband Rodney Pinkham of North Anson, Roger Dickey of Embden; and his only grandchild, RJ Pinkham and girlfriend Mirian Costa of Salisbury, Mass. Myron is also survived brother, Wayne Dickey of North Anson and Dennis Dickey of Belgrade; along with numerous close friends through many states

A graveside service and burial will be held in the spring at the Sunset Cemetery in North Anson.
